Celebrating the Harvest: Trip to Tillingham Winery

Please RSVP by Sunday Sept 29th. Ever wondered what “biodynamic” wine actually means? On Sunday October 6th, we’re journeying out into the East Sussex countryside to spend the day with the team at Tillingham Winery, a mixed farming estate with over 70 acres of rolling hills, woodland and vineyards. We’ll be learning more about biodynamic wine making, touring the winemaking estate, sampling their seasonal sunday farm roast lunch menu and of course, drinking lots of their delicious wines. But.. there’s more! The production team at Tillingham have also exclusively given Wednesdays members access to their vineyards and gardens for the day. We’ll also be touring the farm to learn how they supply their Michelin Green Star restaurant and join in on the Wine harvest :) Both these activities are not available to the public and exclusively for members joining this trip. All the details and more are in the link below. Friends are most welcome but please note we have limited space and this is likely to sell out. FAQ: WHAT DOES THE TICKET PRICE INCLUDE? A ticket includes a private wine tasting on Tillingham Estate (with generous tastings of 4 Tillingham Wines) with a private tour of winemaking facilities, a private tour of the garden and wine harvesting. The Sunday Farm lunch is a £55/person set menu (below). This lunch is not included in the ticket price and will be payable on the day along with any additional beverages. CAN I STAY LONGER AT TILLINGHAM? Sure! Tillingham offers the ability to stay overnight at their very own farmhouse. Excellent to make a longer weekend trip. WILL WE BE ABLE TO JOIN THE WINE HARVEST? Tillingham have offered Wednesdays members the exclusive ability to participate in wine harvest. This of course depends on weather, grapes and time of year and will be confirmed closer to the day of the event. The harvest is highly likely to begin around late September / early October and assuming we can do it, this will happen rain or shine (they have plenty of spare wellies). HOW DO I GET THERE? Tillingham is located about a 15 minute drive from Rye station in Sussex which takes a little over an hour by train to reach from Kings Cross St. Pancras station. There are regular taxis between Rye station and Tillingham.
