Join us for an evening of journaling and jazz as we kick off the weekend! 🎶📝 At 6:30 PM on Friday, May 3rd, we will gather at McCarren Parkhouse. Let me set the scene: you arrive in the beautiful space after a long week of life in NYC. You grab a drink and/or snack from the bar and find your way to the heated patio where you'll be met with warmth. Find your seat, make yourself at home, and let yourself get grounded in the act of self-care, yet in community. Emily, Founder of @journalingclasses, will kick off the evening with mindfulness prompts, and we will flow in our journals as we put pen to paper to some good tunes. We will connect in community, peel back some thoughtful layers, and discover ourselves a bit more. Around 8 PM, we will wrap up the evening workshop, and LIVE jazz will begin playing. Tunes from my favorite local jazz group. You'll be able to do whatever you need - make new friends, crack open your book, continue journaling, grab another drink, and ease right into the weekend. All are welcome to this Jazz and Journaling Evening! The journaling portion of the night begins at 6:30 PM with LIVE jazz starting at 8 PM. I ask that you are present and in attendance from 6:30-8 and then the space opens up for community and fellowship at your leisure. What to expect: 🏡 A cozy layout and a warm and inviting atmosphere. 📝 Materials to put pen to paper – journals, decor, and writing utensils are included! 👫 Community - show up and be sure to walk away with a new connection or friend. 🧘 Mindfulness-based journaling prompts that will explore our true selves, topics of healing, intention setting, and more. 🌿 A safe space: during our time together, we will have the opportunity to connect with ourselves and those around us through writing, nature, and meditation. We will have a ceremonial moment that will allow us to connect to the ground and space we are in. ➕ Plus more! About your host: Emily Chertow, she/her, is the founder of @journalingclasses. She is a Brooklyn-based creative, often spending time in parks with friends and coffee shops with her journal. Emily is passionate about advocating for mental health, human connection, and the power of putting pen to paper. Emily has put pen to paper with over 9k people and is passionate about holding space that is inclusive, safe, and welcoming to all! **If the cost of the workshop is limiting you from attending, please reach out to me on Instagram (@journalingclasses).
