Meet Your Facilitators:
✨ Adam Ashkenazi 🙌🏼
Adam Ashkenazi (he/him) grew up in Los Angeles with an LA-born Ashkenazi Jewish mother and an India-born Sephardic Jewish father. He was raised attending a modern orthodox Jewish day school, largely through an Ashkenaz lens with little connection to his Indian Jewish roots. He is currently a psychotherapist working at a recovery center with people navigating substance use. He also has a small private practice with people experiencing anxiety, shame, self-criticism, impacts of masculinity, and desires for increased connection and belonging. He feels lucky and inspired by the people he gets to sit with and learn from.
✨ Sophia Morgan 👥 (letscorrelate.org)
As one of LUNAR LA’s community leaders, Sophia a Chinese-Ashkenazi Jew from Los Angeles, trained Authentic Relating practitioner, mover and feeler with over twenty-five years of dance experience, and passionate advocate for accessibility and disability rights, LGBTQ+ inclusion, racial justice, and intersectionality. Sophia believes in the transformative and healing power of embodiment and authentic relating at the nexus of connection to self, interpersonal relationships, and systemic contexts. Sophia founded Correlate to equip marginalized communities with tools for embodied connection and belonging. In the past year, Sophia has hosted events in Los Angeles, Bay Area, and Costa Rica impacting participants across queer, Asian Jewish, Jewish, and BIPOC communities. She is committed to bringing possibility to every interaction through presence, curiosity, and connection.
✨ Katharine Lerner 🤸♀️
Katharine received her Pilates training from Club Pilates and Master Trainer Davina Wong. Because of her double scoliosis, she never thought exercise was her thing. But the lure of exercising while lying down brought her to Pilates. Pilates finally allowed her to work her abs without hurting her back, it was a true miracle. The real love came during pregnancy when Katharine practiced every day up until the day before labor. She believes her very seamless labor and delivery is all because of
Pilates. Katharine is very passionate about helping others find exciting ways to honor their body and never being afraid of exercise no matter their physical limits. Katharine acts, directs, and teaches kids musical theater. You can find her around Burbank trying to find the perfect matcha while balancing her daughter on her hip.
