Calong is a bistro restaurant in Stoke Newington featuring Korean cooking with seasonal European produce. If that sounds familiar (cough Miga), that's because — in theory — it really is. The difference? The team.
Calong’s kitchen is led by Joo Won, a South Korean-born chef whose résumé includes seven years as head chef at the Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows.
Chef Joo’s classical training is reflected in the nuanced dishes at Calong, like asparagus and butter beans in a pine nut cream and yang nyeom jang, Joo’s fried chicken, and braised pork belly jjim — an off-menu dish he’s making just for us!
