Xixi Wang (they/she) is a queer, Chinese painter and tattoo artist, originally from Canada but now based in New York.
Spanning five years of intimate exploration, The Reception offers a reframing of eroticism through a sapphic lens — rejecting the constraints of heteronormative narratives and the male gaze that have long defined depictions of sexuality in art history. Wang’s acrylic works invite the viewer into private moments of reciprocity, pleasure, and tenderness — expanding the visual language of queer intimacy into spaces of abundance and self-determined desire.
