Pay what you can workshop $10-$20 suggested. Arrive by 9:30am for a full homestead tour. Want to learn all about sunflowers and how they are such a wonderful companion plant that’s multi purposeful? We will be covering the following: >Sunflowers as trap crops >Sunflowers as soil cleansers & conditioners >Sunflower as fiber >Sunflowers as food >Lastly, together we will process Sunflowers stalks into flour (gluten free!) >Taste a sunflour cookie I have some flour leftover from last year that I will make some chocolate chip cookies with to share. They will be mixed with regular flour and not gluten free. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ABOUT OUR SPACE The Treekin Homestead has multiple shade sails setup and for the event we will also have a cooling station with water. We have several animals on-site and we ask that you please be respectful of their spaces. The Farm Stand will also be open for purchases, including our new Cold Brew! PLEASE BRING -A reusable water bottle -Sunscreen -Shade hat/shirt whatever you need to be comfy -tennis shoes, no open toe shoes, sunflowers are a little hairy and bristly -gardening gloves if you need extra hand protection
