About Elif Bet… 🪞
Every season, the Elif team invites our community members into a cozy space in NYC to hear an early-draft play. The evening begins and ends with a gathering, an opportunity for artists in our community to get to know each other. In the middle, actors from our community will read the play draft for the first time.

About the playwright… 🪞
Joshua Taylor Piper is a 24’ Wagner College graduate with a BA in Theatre Performance. He is now attending Pace getting his MFA in Playwriting. His plays have been performed at the Wild Project, The Tank, Adult Film, The Secret Theatre, Pace University, and Wagner College. Most recently, his play Fireflies Taught Us Pyromania was seen at the Hudson Guild Theater. About the play... 🪞
Hayes and Collin work at “The Last Sonic On Earth”. Well, not the “last” Sonic on Earth, just the last one where they roller skate to your car. After a roller skating incident and a classmate, Aubrey, begins working with them, the three teenagers are thrown in the face of toxic masculinity. “The Last Sonic On Earth” is a coming of age tale about carcinogenic soda, primary color castles, and all the ways boyhood is wielded against us all.
