Welcome to Spring! Many of us are slowly easing out of our winter selves. I encourage you to find ease, slowness, and be gentle with your nervous system. With the longer days bringing more sunlight and vitality, the next six months promise growth and expansion. It’s a season ripe with possibility, buzzing with the seeds of new projects and creations, fresh starts, and self-care, setting the stage for the blossoming of future endeavours. Now is the time! This year, I’m thrilled to announce the return of Rainbo’s Community Liver Cleanse. It’s an exciting journey, and experience has shown that cleansing as a community is far more enriching (and fun) than doing it alone. Why Focus on the Liver? Our liver, a powerhouse of activity, performs over 500 vital functions. It’s our body’s filtration system, cleansing our blood, breaking down toxins, aiding in fat digestion and absorption, regulating cholesterol, and maintaining hormonal balance, among other critical roles. :) Aligned with Traditional Chinese Medicine, where the liver is connected to the vigour of Spring, now is the ideal time to nurture your liver through diet, physical activity, mindful practices, and the healing power of mushrooms. Have you heard about the two renowned mushrooms celebrated for liver support? Reishi¹ and Chaga² are famous and scientifically backed for their liver-enhancing benefits. What to Expect: *everything will be online via Zoom with recordings in case you can't make it live. - A gentle-ish 3-day community liver cleanse (with an optional 24-hour water fast. Highly recommended for autophagy and enhanced healing) - A comprehensive PDF guide filled with insights and guidelines - Daily breathwork recommendation - Day 1: Opening Circle with breathwork and guided visual imagery meditation - Day 2: 30 min Q&A Support for anyone participating in the water fast - Day 3: A closing community Zoom with Kundalini yoga to energetically cleanse the liver, incorporating breathwork and movements to dispel frustration and anger (energetically linked to the liver) - Journal prompts - A holistic journey of physical, emotional, and spiritual detoxification, tapping into age-old practices revered across various cultures and traditions. This collective journey aligns us with nature’s rhythms, cleanses our bodies and minds and empowers us to thrive in connectivity. You can think of this as a system reboot and time to upgrade so that you can hold a new frequency. Supporting our liver means enhancing blood circulation, digestion, hormonal equilibrium, detoxification capabilities, metabolism, protein synthesis, and the storage of essential vitamins and minerals. The liver is fundamental to our overall health. Let's honor it! I look forward to embarking on this cleansing journey together, embracing the transformative power of spring to rejuvenate our bodies and spirits! ***WATER FAST PSA*** The water fast may or may not be suitable for you right now. A 24-hour water fast, where only water is consumed for 24 hours, can have several potential benefits: Autophagy: This is the process by which the body cleans out damaged cells, in order to regenerate newer, healthier cells. Autophagy is thought to increase during periods of fasting. Improved Insulin Sensitivity: Fasting can help lower blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity, reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Improved Cardiovascular Health: Fasting may lead to improvements in various cardiovascular risk factors, including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and triglycerides. Mental Clarity and Focus: Some people report increased mental clarity and improved focus during and after short-term fasts. Enhanced Detoxification: Fasting gives the digestive system a break, which can lead to enhanced detoxification processes in the body. Reduced Inflammation: There is evidence to suggest that fasting can decrease levels of inflammation, potentially leading to improved health outcomes. It's important to note that while a 24-hour water fast can offer these benefits, it's not suitable for everyone. People with certain medical conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with a history of eating disorders should avoid fasting unless supervised by a healthcare professional. Additionally, it's essential to ease into and out of the fast gently and stay hydrated throughout the fasting period. Please talk to your health practitioner if you're unsure whether a water fast is appropriate. You will still benefit from this cleanse if you decide NOT to participate in the water fast. You may opt for a 12, 14 or 16-hour fast if that feels more approachable. We trust in your sovereignty, intuition, and self-knowledge to make the right decision for yourself. Please email me with any questions you have. *Image source: Jessica Fortner from Vancouver, Canada.
