San Antonio, TX
EarthShare Texas Fellow Emily Hutcheson is leading a native plant garden installation at Mark Twain Dual Language Academy Preschool Campus on March 1st. Please join us as we create a pollinator garden and a wildflower prairie. The pollinator garden will be near the front entrance of the school to welcome winged creatures as well as children and their families as they enter school in the morning. The wildflower prairie will be located alongside the school so that the whole neighborhood can have increased access to beautiful green spaces, and local wildlife can find more habitat and food sources. The workday will take place at 518 E. Magnolia Avenue from 9 am to noon. We will be digging and planting, so bring your shovel and gloves and prepare to get dirty! (We will have extra shovels if you don't have one.) Thanks to support from Bat Conservation International and Bexar County Audubon Society, we will install two phases of ecosystem renewal at the school, which is new to the Mark Twain Dual Language Academy family. *Google might tell you that this is Rafael Gonzales Early Childhood Education Center, but that is outdated information. Make sure you don’t end up at the main campus, on San Pedro Avenue, but if you do it's ok because you are only one mile away.
