Join Flowtopia at the 43rd annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade! 🧜♀️✨ All props welcome, all skill levels welcome! Jugglers, movement artists, and sideshow friends are encouraged to join our group!
HOW TO REGISTER:

🫧 select the option “I am part of a group”
🫧 group name is Flowtopia
🫧 group number is GROUP-2025-41

Registration is REQUIRED! The registration fee is $35 in advance, $40 day of for adults. All proceeds go to Coney Island and do not go to Flowtopia.
*You must pay Coney directly.*
COSTUMING THEME:
We are slotted in the Artsy Marchers section! Anything goes here. 🥰 Want to be a terrifying deep sea mermaid? Do it! Want to be a bubblegum sparkle mermaid? Please! If we want to work on a more cohesive group theme, I am open to this as well. :)
Artsy Marchers are slotted towards the back of the parade and near nudity is allowed!
WHAT TO BRING:
🚨 Pack light. Pack smart. I recommend a small sling bag, fanny pack, etc.
🧜♀️ your props! (Need to borrow hoops or silk fans? Please reach out.)
🧜♀️ sunscreen
🧜♀️ water - although there are vendors for water on Coney Island, expect high prices day of
🧜♀️ small snacks for easy energy, like trail mix
🧜♀️ sunglasses and earplugs if you need them
🧜♀️ shoes you feel comfortable walking in for an extended period of time
🧜♀️ glitter, emergency setting powder, face paint, makeup, anything you need to feel yourself and the mermaid fantasy
🧜♀️ ID and card/cash if you intend to enjoy Coney Island, the Freak Bar, or the sideshow after the parade!
🧜♀️ Your swimsuit if you like! The beach is OPEN after the parade! And in fact, we will open the beach for the swimming season!
🧜♀️ if you have a mobility aid, please bring it! Read on below for accessibility information.
From the Coney Island official website:
“The Parade starts at 1pm, rain or shine, on West 21st and Surf Avenue. It rolls east to West 10th Street, where the marchers and push-pull floats proceed to the Boardwalk and continue their march to Steeplechase Plaza, under the Parachute Jump, where the Parade will disband.
After the parade, usually around 4pm, there’s a procession led from the Judge’s stands at 19th Street and Surf Avenue, through Maimonides Park Parking lot, to the beach. Marchers and spectators are welcome to join. Marchers can join the procession from the end of the parade route under the Parachute Jump. On the beach, the official beach ceremony will take place, and the ocean will be opened for the summer swimming season.”
ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:
Coney Island is welcoming to everyone! Anyone using a mobility aid who cannot line up outside is more than welcome to wait in the amphitheater.
Please follow these procedures:
🧜🏾 Check in on day of as normal. I highly recommend registering in advance! (If you did not, when you check in is when you’ll pay the day of fee to Coney Island.)
🧜🏾 Head on over to the amphitheater! You are welcome to wait in the shade.
🧜🏾 Please check in with me (Pippin) so I can come get you before we line up to march proper! You are more than welcome to just shoot me a text or Instagram message to check in. :)
DAY OF REGISTRATION:
You must be present by 12pm!!! You must be present by 12pm!!! Day of registration is CASH ONLY and $5 more! $40 versus $35 in advance
Registration is located in the parking lot on Surf Avenue in between 21st & 22nd street. Please note to enter this lot, enter from 22nd street (in between Surf and the Ampitheater).
There are bathrooms in the Amphitheater that all groups will have access to. Plus porta potties on Surf Ave and 22nd St
**We are seeking a volunteer who would be willing to help pull a wagon with small bottled waters, various props, etc.** EDIT: Volunteer found! 💙🩵
