Join us at Oakland Yard on a lovely Sunday afternoon to connect around art and storytelling. We'll have supplies for you to make your own zines and fun ways to connect with your friends, old and new. This is part of a fundraising series for 'this is my body', a storytelling program for women of color in the Bay Area. A percentage of each glass you purchase will go towards funding scholarships towards this program. There will be NA drink options as well. Special thanks to Oakland Yard for opening up their space for us to hold this community event! About this is my body: 'This is my body' is an experience designed for women of color to reclaim their narratives and take up space and own their truths. In the wake of #MeToo and other critical conversations on how women navigate this world, storytelling has been a powerful vessel for resistance, empowerment, and healing. The cohort-based program takes participants through writing and performance workshops to support the development of an original piece that is performed for a community audience.
