We are having a Queer Trinket Swap & craft!
A relaxed afternoon of connection with queer folks who live around Long Beach. This is a space to swap trinkets—small, meaningful, handmade, or just cute items—with one another in a spirit of joy, whimsicality, and play.
We’ll also be making things together, crafting under the sun.
Bring a craft project you’ve been working on—or start a new one with friends!
Light refreshments will be available to keep us cool and cozy.
What counts as a trinket?
It’s up to you! Some ideas:
Stickers or pins
Tiny art or patches
Beaded jewelry or keychains
Crystals, miniatures, charms
A cool rock or shell
Something you made or something you love that wants a new home
Whether it’s shiny, silly, sentimental, or strange—if it feels like a trinket to you, it counts.
What to bring (if you want):
Trinkets to swap
Craft supplies or a project
A blanket or chair if you’d like to sit and hang
A queer friend or two
We’re also making space for care and truth-telling.
One of our friends will be speaking briefly about a recent experience with transmisogyny from a former volunteer of this event. It’s important to name these moments and hold each other in the community as we navigate them.
Come to connect, to make, to trade—but also to be witnessed and supported.
