We're back with a new workshop in our 'Skill-Sharing for a Sustainable Future' workshop series. Care is Power: A Drop-In Ear Seed Workshop, produced by The Community Fund (and featuring Kelpy Cathedral, L.Ac. @build_blood). On May 15th at Again Vintage, join us for a drop-in, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to incorporate ear seeds—an accessible form of acupuncture—into your wellness practice, with guidance and support from licensed acupuncturist Kelpy Cathedral. Each participant will receive a kit with everything you need to begin this practice, including a zine with diagrams of ear maps and blank pages to paste Polaroids you’ll take of your own applied ear map at the event. This personalized reference will help you learn your unique ear anatomy and continue to confidently apply ear seeds at home. Each participant who drops by between 5:30-7:30PM will also receive a complimentary Plant Potion of their choosing from SUBLIME (our in-house cafe). The workshop is free to guests, but a suggested donation of $10–$20 to the acupuncturist would be appreciated. Space is limited to the first 25 RSVPs, so RSVP to reserve your spot/ let us know that you're dropping by. BIOS: Kelpy Cathedral, L.Ac. (they/them), is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist dedicated to providing a comfortable space for the LGBTQIA+ community to access care. They received their master’s in acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science, have worked in multiple community acupuncture clinics, and run a sliding scale private practice in Bushwick. Melissa Munnerlyn (she/they) is a creative whose work is centered around beauty, data, and community. Her latest project, The Community Fund, supports workshops and events that teach sharable skills to help people care for themselves and each other. Again Vintage is a Brooklyn-based shop, cafe, and event space. The shop features curated vintage and sustainable objects for home and gift and is also the home of SUBLIME Coffee + Plant Potions, a cafe concept space that shares exceptional locally-roasted coffee + espresso from woman-of-color-owned roaster Driftaway, as well as hand-crafted herbal adaptogenic beverages, Japanese Milk Bread sandwiches + grain bowls, and an assortment of gluten-free, processed-sugar free, plant-based baked goods and pastries. SUBLIME also offers a gluten-free, industrialized seed oil-free, additive + dyes-free, and processed sugar-free pantry.
