Join us for the convergence of various cultures and traditions to honor the start of the lunar calendar and budding of the spring season.
We will be embarking on an eating tour through a VERY festive Chinatown, led by the phenomenal plant-based chef Christine Wong, who will take us on a culinary adventure! Afterwards, we will walk to the Irish Hunger Memorial to watch the sunset as we take our first collective breath of spring together.
Schedule:
12 PM - Chinatown food & walking tour
5 PM - Sunset breath work & ritual

~ The First Breath ~
The darkness of winter descends, but the spring light is soon to dawn. The shadow grows larger, but only because the light which casts it grows brighter.
The seeds of our souls lay dormant, resting and reflecting, nourishing the dreams we have so carefully planted. But something begins to stir. A murmuring ascends from the depths of the womb of Mother Earth and awakens the world from its slumber. Winter may still have us in her grasp, but the warm rays of spring allure us with her enticing embrace. There is more to endure of the bitter night, but the return of the light brings the first signs of life. And with it, hope, belief, and reprieve; a moment to take our first breath, allowing our spirits to rise. Every inhale, restoration. Every exhale, inspiration.
The forest floor may appear bare, but it is anything but. Below the snow, beneath the decay of past seasons, that stirring strengthens, whispering to the surrounding seeds. We may not be able to see what lays below, but we all know whatโs there. We can feel it. The reawakening of our dreams, preparing to greet the rest of the woods; the embers of our creativity and passion growing with every moment, reflecting the very source from which they sprout.
The sun appears and cracks through the ice, gifting us the energy needed to do so ourselves. And as we break through the resistance that was once our very protection, we take root in our new home, and find room for more gentleness, kindness, compassion, and patience for our upcoming journey of growth.
The light is near, but the darkness still prevails, asking us to dig even more, to find the strength and courage for the inevitable resurgence. So within the frozen earth we must remain, but only briefly, for we know it will soon be time to make our grand appearance. How difficult it is to descend back from the very depths in which we came, already glimpsing the warmth that lays ahead. But this is where true transformation occurs. Difficulty will be had. We will be tested. But we shall persevere.
From our deep introspection, we gained the wisdom, knowledge, and intuition to overcome any obstacle that obstructs our path. Just like the snake of the woods, who sheds its skin of doubt and fear and moves with focus and grace, we too will adapt as we explore our most ambitious creative endeavors. And the deeper we dig, the darker it becomes. But it is in the darkest of nights we must not lose trust. For truth is the most ultimate light. So as you look towards the heavens for the exalted rays above, remember that the path can only be illuminated from the radiance within.
We hold the ancient secrets, they are embedded in our very being. The cauldron brewed by those before us flows through our veins. Our paths are not mere ones of potential or possibility, but of prophecy. We are all descendants of the divine, the blossoming of the seeds in which they planted so that we may find the vigor to carry the ancestral torch that will gracefully guide the ones that grow after.
Our times are transcending and our cultures converging. As the cold lingers, may the hearth of our hearts keep us warm.
