Beer Mile Rules & Guidelines The Beer Mile consists of running four laps (one mile total) on a standard 400m track, drinking a full beverage (beer or non-alcoholic beer) before each lap. The event is meant to be fun, inclusive, and competitive! GENERAL RULES: Beverage Requirements: BYO • Participants must consume one full can/bottle (minimum 355ml / 12oz) of beer, non-alcoholic beer, or soda before each lap. • Beer must be at least 5% ABV if choosing alcoholic options. • Beverages must be consumed within the designated drinking zone before starting the next lap. • Participants must finish their beverage before beginning their lap. • No spillage or excessive foam loss—if there’s too much, a penalty lap may be enforced. • The race consists of four laps (1600m). • If a participant vomits at any point before finishing the race, they must run a penalty lap at the end. TEAM RELAY RULES: • Teams may consist of up to four runners, each completing one lap. • Each team member must finish their beverage before tagging the next runner. • The transition (hand-off) must take place in the designated exchange zone. PENALTIES AND DISQUALIFICATION Penalty Lap: Any participant who vomits before finishing the race must run a penalty lap (one extra lap after finishing the fourth). DISQUALIFICATION CRITERIA: • Failure to consume the full beverage before starting a lap. • Intentional spillage or dumping of beverage. • Cutting the course or receiving outside assistance. SAFETY AND CONDUCT • Participants are responsible for knowing their limits and drinking responsibly. • If consuming alcoholic beer, participants must be 21+ and not drive afterward. • This is a fun event and organizers are not liable for any damages or untoward incidents, you must enter this completely at your own risk. Please know your own boundaries before signing up. Costumes are encouraged! Have fun, cheer for others, and enjoy the race!
