🔥 EyeToTheSky: Burning Man Test Build & Backyard Bash in Bushwick 🔥 Friday, August 8th | 9 Bob Note, Bushwick, Brooklyn Backyard opens at 9PM | Music inside til late TICKETS: https://wl.eventim.us/event/EyeToTheSky-An-Art-FUNraiser/658401?afflky=9BobNote This summer, catch a rare glimpse of large-scale Burning Man art right here in Bushwick before it heads out to the Black Rock Desert! This is a unique chance to see this kind of an installation locally here in Brooklyn before it gets officially erected in the desert. EyeToTheSky is a new immersive sculpture bound for Burning Man 2025 — a sweeping pavilion of curved plywood, surrounding a stunning central light piece made of glass and steel in the form of a glowing human iris gazing skyward. It’s a living room for the deep playa — a space for gathering, reflection, and awe. Join us for the test build of this monumental work in the backyard of 9 Bob Note, where the full installation will be constructed for one night only. Come explore the space, chill under the structure, and connect with the team bringing this piece to life. 🌀 Live acoustic music under the sculpture until 11pm 💃 Indoor DJs & dancing late into the night, including Illich Mujica, 2Melo, &Ily, Tony Grund, Mr. Jones & more TBA! 🍻 Community vibes, art energy, and good people 🥽 Experience the art in full scale with VR by Aisu Website for more info on the project: www.eyetothesky.art Wanna get invlved? Whether proposing a performance, activation, or wanting to get involved with the build or strike of the piece, fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/2tYCsXXxTu7rJExF9 The work is led by Michael Joseph White, a Brooklyn-based artist and creative technologist whose background includes architectural design, robotics, LED installations, and digital fabrication. Michael has contributed to installations for Leo Villareal Studio, Apple TV, Gucci, Hudson Yards, and more. His large-scale art has appeared at Burning Man, CAMP Festival, and The Shed. His more recent 2024 sculpture dSphere has been turning heads at major events across the country like House of Yes’ City of Gods Halloween spectacle, Miami’s Love Burn, and CAMP festival in Maryland. This is your chance to support the creation of major Burning Man art, experience it up close before it hits the desert, and celebrate with the people who make it all happen. All ticket proceeds are donations to support transportation and materials for the playa. There will be a station available to provide tax-deductible donations at the event. Dress to express. Bring good vibes. Respect the space. Let’s bring the playa spirit to Bushwick — see you under the Eye.
