❛ᴗ❛^⎵^Material Union is building a worker-owned textile recycling/upcycling cooperative in Austin. Our goal is to create a space for turning discarded clothing into sustainable materials, create green jobs, sell pieces by local designers, and host community events like mending classes.
Agenda for tonight:
6:30-6:45PM - Settling in & networking
6:45 - 7:00PM - Intro about Material Union
7:00- 7:15PM - Education on "what is co-op?"
7:15-7:30PM - Overview of crucial roles we are looking for as initial worker-owners and our steering committee!
- Financial management/ bookkeeper
- Marketing / social media / event planning
- Commerical partnerships
- Production / operations/ design
- Shop manager
7:30 - 8PM - Breakout into 2 groups to discuss ways we want to be involved/collaborate & learn more
