🔥GAME NIGHT FOR THE REVOLUTION! A cross generation queer gaming night with purpose... Invisible Men, Qweerty Gamers, OUTWORDS, and Downtown LA Proud are teaming up for something real. Not just a game night. Not just a hang. A night to remind our community who we are to each other and how powerful we become when we show up together united. Our elders once gathered around bingo boards, domino tables, card decks, underground bars, and arcade corners to survive, strategize, practice self care, and protect each other when the world tried to erase them. Games were never just games. They were a strategy. They were a shield. They were a way to pull allies close, build trust, and move forward together when everything felt stacked against us. And for some, those moments of play allowed them to step into characters that reflected a truer version of themselves, to explore gender or feel affirmed in ways the outside world was not safe enough to hold. Now a new generation finds connection through consoles, online worlds, mobile games, and PC play. Gaming today becomes a place to build avatars that express who we are, who we are becoming, or who we are not yet able to show in daily life. It brings visibility, escape, self care, resistance, and joy. And even with all the new tools and possibilities, there is still pushback against queer storylines, queer characters, and queer representation in gaming. The fight continues, but the purpose remains the same. Gaming becomes a lifeline in a world that still tries to shut us out. This event brings all those eras into one room and reminds us that none of this is new. Exploring identity through play, finding safety in characters, building community through games, and fighting for representation has always been part of our 2SLGBTQ+IA story. Our elders created unity through play. Now we are doing it again in real time, under new attacks, with new tools, and with the same purpose. Our panelists reflect that bridge across generations and experiences. They each bring their own lived stories about gaming, community, identity, and resilience. Together they help us see the full picture of how our 2SLGBTQ+IA family has survived, adapted, and risen across time. Because if there was ever a time our 2SLGBTQ+IA community needed to sit together, learn from each other, laugh together, and stand united, it is right now. Whether you grew up on Solitare, Pac Man, or Balatro, or you log into Fortnite after work, or even if you do not play at all, this night is for you. Come for the joy. Come for the story. Come for the unity. Come for the community. Come because our unity is worth fighting for!✊🏽 On the lineup: 🌟A vibrant conversation between queer elders, gamers, and advocates 🎲Real talk on how gaming built community in the past and how it can rebuild unity now 👾A showcase of modern queer inclusive games 🎮Live gameplay: Street Fighter, Mario Kart, retro games, & PC stations. 🎟️Raffle prizes 🎤Hosting by Chi Chi Charla 🎭Performances by Chi Chi Charla, Danni Cassette, and Jazzmun Crayton 🍗Donated food from El Pollo Loco, an amazing advocate, Michaela Mendelsohn 🔥This is a night is for us to build together, because together we are STRONGER!🔥 🗓️Thursday December 12 ⏰6 to 9 PM 📍Bar Kiso, Downtown LA 🥳Free event.
