SCHEDULE:
9:00AM - Meet at our host's house (address above) for food prep, volunteer training, prayer, & team building
10:40AM - Head downtown to meet with our unhoused neighbors
12:00PM - Head home
12:30PM - Group lunch at Illegal Pete's DU with the other volunteers if you want!
OUR GOAL:
To address both the physical and spiritual needs of the people in our city by meeting our unhoused neighbors where they are, and demonstrating that they are valued and cared for.
We ask them about their day, their life, their story, their struggles, their hopes, and their dreams. Whatever conversation we have with each person, the goal is to help restore their sense of dignity and to remind them of their God-given value and importance.
If a homemade meal, an encouraging note, and some basic hygiene supplies are a good way to meet their tangible needs so they can focus on filling their soul's needs, then that's what we're gonna do!
We record each person's prayer requests at the end of every event and publish it on our blog so we can continue to lift them up in prayer after the day is over.

Although we love and serve our unhoused neighbors because God first loved us, our goal is to help bring peace and unity to the Downtown Denver community.
Whether you've served with us a dozen times before or have never once spoken with anyone experiencing homeless, we can still use your help! It's not possible to be under-qualified here ◡̈ We'd love for you to experience the whole day, but are more than happy to have your help in whatever capacity you have to offer, even if it's only for a small part of the day.
