Hollings began her musical journey singing in the forests of her backyard in Georgia at the age of 5. She trained in choirs and attended a performing arts high school in Atlanta, which eventually led to performing alongside Josh Groban. At 19, she co-founded her first band, Beat the Grid—a dance-rock blend of funk, afrobeat, and jazz—with cellist/producer Daniel Frankhuizen and other Ithaca College musicians. Their debut album was released in 2013 and promoted by AAM, Inc. The band lived and performed in NYC from 2012-2015.
