Join us at Casa de Healing for a Decompression Detox Temazcal. We will come together to reflect on our playa experiences and connect in a deep and meaningful way within a healing Temazcal, where respiratory system aiding herbs and breathwork will blend together to maximize its detoxifying properties.
Co-led by Casa de Healing founder Patrick Reynoso and somatic healer and breathwork facilitator Courtney Forcefield, this experience will bring about powerful release, grounding, and a much needed detox.
WHAT IS A TEMAZCAL?
The Temazcal ceremony is considered a therapeutic and spiritual experience, promoting relaxation, physical detoxification, emotional release, and a sense of connection to nature and ancestors. The ritual often includes chants, prayers, guided meditations, or breathwork led by a Temazcalero (the guide or healer).
We will bring in a few hot volcanic stones (light heat warmth 80’-90’) into the temazcal during the breath work session and poor purified prayed over water infused with sage, rosemary, lavender, sweet grass, and other powerful herbs 🌿 to detox and open up the respiratory system powerfully for deeper healing. All of this while we close the door to the temazcal for a sensory deprivation Breathwork experience like nothing you’ve experienced before!

PREPARATION:
A Temazcal is a traditional Mexican steam bath with roots in pre-Hispanic indigenous cultures, particularly among the Aztecs and Mayans. The term "temazcal" is derived from the Nahuatl words "temāz" (steam) and "calli" (house), meaning "house of steam." These sweat lodges were used for various purposes, including healing, spiritual purification, and community rituals.
Volcanic stones, the Abuelitas (Grandmothers), are heated in the Grandfather Fire and then placed inside the temazcal. Throughout the ceremony, they are doused by water infused with herbs to create steam. The ritual often includes chants, prayers, guided meditations, or breath work led by a temazcalero (the guide or healer).
