PARKING Parking is provided for up to 2 free hours in the lot across the street by using the QR code at the door and entering their license plate number. Any parking beyond the free 2 hour period must be paid or moved to street parking. A&C is not responsible for any parking tickets incurred while in the store. Street parking is mostly free in surrounding blocks, but can be extremely difficult to find. If you ride a bike, you might want to bring it into the classroom because bike theft rate is pretty high in the area.
CLOTHING FOR POSE PRACTICE (street clothes are fine, otherwise): * Easy on-off shoes e.g., flip-flops, sandals, slippers or crocs...anything that will help keep your feet clean & safe during breaks * Something to cover yourself when not in pose, like a robe or sarong (single private bathroom is in the store NOT the Classroom and you will need to be fully-clothed in the store; there is a small changing corner inside the Classroom)
FOOD: * Lunch/snack & water vessel (we will take periodic breaks during which you'll be able to eat/hydrate) * There is a cold/hot water dispenser in the classroom.
Please make any requests for accommodations known! Apply privately, expect to volunteer in exchange: * 1 Scholarship, * 1 Discount, and * 1 Giveaway
BRING: * Note-taking materials (any digital note taking devices must have the camera covered with tape so as to respect nude models in the room) * Instructor will time trainee poses, but be open to timing yourself (we’ll go over a timer app and how to program it/use it...egg timer is fine, too).
MASKS: Masks are encouraged but not required.

If you've ever thought about being a participant in works of art, need some extra cash with a schedule that YOU control, or want to just be a part of art but have no artistic talent - this might be for you! We aim to include models of all gender, size, ethnicity, age, etc. Every body is different, beautiful & interesting in their own way! This class is geared toward beginning models. ABOUT THE CLASS...you will: * Learn about the types of modeling * Learn about marketing yourself * Learn safety during your modeling sessions * Have the opportunity to model (nude) for real artists * Book one open studio session at Sunday Figure Art Seattle series (psst! this one gig can replace the cost of training!) * Gain a solid reference for art school and community artist applications MODEL TRAINEES ONLY: 11 am- 2 pm lecture/practice 2 pm - 3 pm Lunch Break! MODEL TRAINEES AND ARTISTS BOTH: 3 pm- 6 pm Models practice everything they’ve learned in that morning. Artists will be privately invited to meet and create art from the newly-trained models (nude short poses). Artists may arrive at 2:30 to set up. MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER About your teacher, ShawnaArtModel: Shawna has been a full-time model for nearly 11 years. "Full time" in art modeling can mean 3-10 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. Having achieved 10,000 pose hours in 2020 alone, she is on the roster of ~20 schools in the Puget Sound region and ~20 community series in the area. Shawna also collaborates with individual artists, working in their homes or studios. Additionally, Shawna coordinates and hosts community "open sessions" and hires models for both her own self-hosted series and for other community series. As of Summer 2022, Shawna began coordinating models for Gage Academy of Art.
