The former volunteers and staff of The Center (aka Gather Collective) community Present: 🌿 Honoring The Center SF and Embracing the Community Beyond 🌿 While The Center SF (business and space) has closed, the community it fostered lives on through a brand new grassroots organization called Gather Collective! This first gathering (of many to come) is organized by, and for, that community as we acknowledge what was, and envision what’s next. Join us as we come together to honor, remember, and celebrate The Center SF--the beloved teahouse, community space, yoga studio, co-op, and sacred third space that held so many of us. This gathering is for anyone whose heart was touched by The Center, whether you were a volunteer, regular, staff, resident, teacher/facilitator, casual guest, or event-goer. We'll create an intentional space to share stories, hold feelings, celebrate the magic, and honor the connections that continue. ✨What to Expect ✨ -Sharing in small groups (we’ll have prompts available for optional use) -Open mic for memories & reflections in all forms -Creative expression stations (memory board, collective art, etc.) - contribute your love to a piece that will be taken to The Temple at Burning Man -Altar space for grief, gratitude, and celebration -Community connection with others who loved the space, and the community that has rallied around it -Updates on 🦋what's next🦋 for our beloved community, and how you can partake (hint: there's a grassroots co-creation in progress!) -Tea, of course! 🍵 🌀The Flow🌀 3-4pm - Tea, socializing, & collaborative art creation 4-4:30pm - Lightly facilitated small group sharing 4:30-5:50pm - Open Mic hosted by The Center’s own Liz Cahill — for Center-related performance art (i.e. poetry, stories, songs, comedy routines, slideshows, interpretive dances, roasts, etc) 5:50-6:00pm - Announcements from the Core Team, what's next, & how to get involved 6pm onwards - Free flow social time & melt into the evening 🫂 Come As You Are 🫂 Bring your whole self--your stories, your grief, your gratitude, your anger, your love... This is a space for all of it. All types of performance art will be welcome during the Open Mic; the audience is just as important as those sharing! 💛 No need to prepare anything special or formal unless you want to - just your presence and the memories that live in your heart are more than enough. Let's gather in community, honoring what The Center gave us and the connections that live on. 💸 This is a "pay what you wish" event. Upon RSVP, please Venmo Geo M. @gsmbk . Any amount raised after compensating rental of the venue will go towards fundraising efforts for the new community-first organization being created! 🙏 This event is the first in Gather Collective’s 🌊Beyond the Center🌊event series. It is being organized by community members of the currently shuttered Center SF, and is not affiliated with the former business 🙏
