Learn the basics of American Mahjongg, a 4-player tile game that originated in China and has been popularized throughout the world.
American Mahjong follows the lead of the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) which publishes an annual card of winning hands. The goal is to be the first get to get a winning 14-tile sequence or “mahjongg”.
The session will be interactive and fun, and you will leave understanding the tiles, the NMJL card, and the flow of play. We will end with an open-hand game. Bring your lunch and instruction will start at 11 am.
Cost: $125/person. Minimum of 4 people for class to run. The NMJL card will be available for purchase or included if you sign up for Mahjongg 101 & Mahjongg 102 in September/October.
