We're thrilled to invite you to our inaugural Vorden Initiative community gathering on Saturday, April 26th, at 12:00 PM at Sports Basement Presidio in San Francisco.
The Vorden Initiative is dedicated to empowering sighted individuals to become confident allies and guides for blind and visually impaired athletes. Founded by Kristie Colton—a blind Harvard graduate, Google software engineer, and avid marathon runner and snowboarder—and her college friend, sports guide, and Google ML engineer, Jungyeon Park, our mission is to make allyship for the blind a norm in our communities.
This event is open to everyone interested in learning more about our work and how you can get involved. Come for an engaging afternoon where you'll:
- Meet the founders and hear their inspiring stories
- Discover ways to support and guide blind athletes
- Connect with like-minded individuals passionate about inclusivity
Whether you're a seasoned athlete, a curious newcomer, or simply someone who believes in creating inclusive communities, there's a place for you here. Let's come together to champion accessibility and allyship in sports and beyond.
