WHAT IS FUTURE FOLKLORE?
The Future Folklore Project is a living archive of the stories we choose to carry forward. Through intimate gatherings, communal prompts, creative rituals, and collaborative portraiture, the project invites people to reflect on the narratives that have shaped them—those they’ve inherited, resisted, rewritten, or are still learning to understand.
Each gathering centers around a theme (like rest, belonging, or urgency) and offers a space to share stories aloud, swap books, and co-create new language for the futures we want to build.
THEME: CARE
How do we give and receive care - to ourselves, to each other, and to the more-than-human world around us? At FFP003, we’ll lean into care as both practice and ritual: exploring childhood memories of being cared for, examining where we struggle to give and receive compassion, and imagining new ways to weave care into our daily lives, our relationships, our work, and our communities.
LOCATION: Festival Beach Food Forest is a volunteer-led, edible forest garden where visitors can openly forage and enjoy fresh food on the shores of Lady Bird Lake. Using permaculture design and regenerative practices, the FBFF provides food, shade, and ecosystem services to its neighbors.
FBFF has donation based yoga every Sunday at 11, so our gathering will take place directly after that. ◡̈
