Let’s celebrate CELIA CRUZ and dance the night away, LIVE at the Gantries—a free outdoor concert series at Gantry Plaza State Park in LIC, during the stunning sunsets over the East River.
Concerts take place on Tuesdays at 7 PM. It’s free—just show up! Bring a chair, picnic, friends—even your dancing shoes—and enjoy a summer of live music in the park!
Migguel Anggelo’s second episode of ICONS celebrates the legendary Cuban singer Celia Cruz in honor of her 100th birthday year.
Directed and developed by Adrian Alea, led by Musical Director Jaime Lozano and backed by an all-star lineup of live musicians and dancers, this concert pays tribute to the Queen of Salsa and delves into themes of Latine cultural identity, resilience, and the transformative power of music.
Original music and lyrics by Migguel Anggelo and Jaime Lozano. Featuring Saúl Cosme on guitars, Jaime Lozano on piano, Hugo Moreno on trumpet, Yahir Montes on bass, Ruben Coca on drums and percussion, Adriana Medina Santiago, Sara Ornelas, and Mayelah Barrera on backing vocals.
Live at the Gantries is presented in collaboration with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and with generous support from the Mathis-Pfohl Foundation.
