Thanks again to everyone who joined our amazing kick-off meeting on Tuesday, April 22nd! It was incredible to see such a strong turnout, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going as we work together to advocate for real improvements to our North Brooklyn dog runs. Next Meeting: 📅 Monday, June 2nd 🕡 6:30 PM 📍 Easy Lover (agenda will be sent 1 week prior) Please leave pups at home for the evening (service animals only)—thanks for understanding! 🐶💛 While we all love having our dogs with us, this space won’t work for everyone to bring theirs—and we’ve found these evening events are more impactful (and easier to manage!) without dogs. Let’s save the pup time for the dog run. Meeting Goals: At this meeting, we'll align on how we advocate as a united group and start breaking off into individual park sub-committees focused on specific goals. Discussion Recap: At our first meeting, we had a productive conversation about the drainage, surface, and maintenance issues across our parks. Moving forward, our strategy will focus on raising awareness, mobilizing community involvement, and advocating for improvements with a stronger, collective voice. Volunteer Updates: Thank you to everyone who signed up to help! Our planning committee will be meeting ahead of June 2. If you’d like to get more involved or connect before then, please reach out! Immediate Action Items: 🐾 Spread the Word: Talk to at least one other dog parent and share that our dog runs are volunteer-maintained. 🐾 Get Social: Follow your local Dog Run groups on Instagram and join your neighborhood WhatsApp group! We can’t wait to see everyone again and keep building this incredible community!
