Esarn Kheaw is a family-run Thai business in Shepherd's Bush. After arriving in London from Thailand more than 50 years ago, Esarn Kheaw founders Mr. Mongkol Puntar and his wife started out serving traditional Esarn dishes to friends and family over dinner parties.
In 1992, Esarn Kheaw was born, and more than three decades later, it remains one of the only restaurants in London serving food from Esarn.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, we’ll be tasting homestyle Northeast Thai cuisine at Esarn Kheaw in Shepherd's Bush! Thanks to fellow member Putt, a frequent patron at Esarn, for suggesting and co-hosting this event!
Together with Putt and the Esarn Kheaw team, we curated a set menu for this event that highlights some of the best Esarn dishes with varying spice levels.

- Esarn Sausages (Homemade Thai sausages made with pork and rice, served with fresh ginger, salted peanuts and chilli.)
- Bamboo Shoots Salad
- Papaya Salad
- Fish Cakes
- Khanom Jeep (Steamed pork, prawn and chicken dumplings, served
with adark sweet soya bean sauce.)
- Beef North East Style (Charcoal grilled sirloin strips of beef with lemon juice, onion, coriander, chilli and fish sauce.)
- Laab Chicken (Minced chicken with lemon juice, onion, coriander, chilli and fish sauce)
- Tiger Cry (Thai grilled steak)
- Gaeng Om (Chicken cooked with homemade chilli paste, ground toasted rice, fresh dill, lemon basil, oyster mushrooms, bamboo shoots, chicken stock and Thai fermented fish stock.)
- Yum Seafood (Blanched seafood with lemon juice, lemongrass, onion, chilli, chilli oil paste, coriander and fish sauce.)
- Gaeng Pet Ped Yang (Roasted duck curry cooked in coconut milkwith grapes, pineapple and Thai red curry paste.)
- Jungle Curry Beef (Minced beef with jungle curry
paste, mixed vegetables, young green peppercorns, wild ginger and holy basil in a clear spicy broth)
- Son in Law Eggs (Deep fried golden eggs with a caramelised tamarind sauce,garnished with deep fried garlic, shallots and coriander)
- Egg Fried Rice
- Steamed Jasmine Rice
