Sonic Salon - Finding Tone & Voice w/t Mark Pagán

Hello good all people, Our last Sonic Salon event was a hit, so here’s to another! This time, we’ll be hearing from award-winning filmmaker and audio producer Mark Pagán. Mark has some things to say about the seldom easy, often gratifying practice of finding your voice in audio. His podcast, Other Men Need Help, cultivated a distinct POV for those caught up in the “emblems, habits, and struts of male performance.” To aspiring indie creators, OMNH also modeled how you can balance market appeal with authenticity — what Mark calls “the fight to define what shows are” So, how can we all do the same in our work? Whether it’s a one-off episode, an entire series, or something entirely different, Mark says there’s three things to consider when facing this challenge in audio. He’ll talk about what he sees as a lack of vision in what shows are (and can be). And he’ll pull back the curtains on how his thinking on finding tone & personality has evolved in the aftermath of OMNH’s final episode. This event is entirely FREE, and yes, there will be pizza.
