Big a$$ Women's Basketball Watch Party
UPDATE:
The Big Ass Watch Party is so big ass that we’ve outgrown our original venue, so we’re switching to Sleeping Village (located at 3734 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL). No more BYOB as drinks will be sold at the bar, but it’s still BYO food, and we’re still throwing a community potluck (!) starting at 1pm w/ the game beginning at 2pm.
A huge thank you to the folks who have given a suggested donation to support this event: that’s been critical to helping us rent out Sleeping Village. If you'd like to support the event, you still can: send your donation on Venmo to @Maya-Goldberg-Safir.
The vibe will still be ‘extended living room with friends,” but because so many folks want to join, we’re just renting out a giant concert hall for it and projecting the game onto the big screen. There will be about 70 chairs provided, plus standing room. So bring snacks or a dish to share and come hungry :)

This event is free, but RSVP to let us know you’re coming and chip in $5 to help cover the cost of the event and support more grassroots women’s basketball events like this one.

This is the first gathering from Rough Notes — a publication following the guts & glory of women's basketball from the court, the road and the heart — with our friends at Babe’s, a new kind of sports bar in Chicago centering women athletes and their fans.
