¬‿¬Hi folks - welcome to the inaugural SF Art and Bar Crawl! For our inaugural event, I've chosen the Asian Art Museum.
Preliminary structure of the event (subject to change):
2:30-3PM - [OPTIONAL] meet up in front of Asian Art Museum
3-5PM - Visit the Asian Art Museum! We can keep this relatively free form and I will publish my viewing route the day of. If you are new the the museum, feel free to tag along!
5-6:30PM - Drinks at Fermentation Lab Mid-Market! Good selection of local beer & wine, as well as classic bar food!

Q: What is the cost of the event?
A: The organizer of the event doesn't charge anything, but you will pay for your own museum ticket, food, beverages, and more. Ticket price for the Asian Art Museum can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/ytrk9beu
Q: When it comes to the museum, is there tour or do we just do our own thing?
A: I think we can feel free to do our own thing and explore. If groups form organically, that would be great too! I am treating this first event as a trial run to figure our what format works the best and we can improve as we go!
Q: Can we buy group tickets / share membership?
A: The organizer will not be in charge of buying tickets, but if you want to organize amongst event goers then feel free. Please exercise ample caution when transferring money to anyone else.
Q: What's good at this museum?
A: The Asian Art Museum is one of the best spaces to explore asian art and culture in SF - or even the US! I highly recommend walking through the amazing (and huge) permanent collection.
The museum is also currently running a show on Takashi Murakami, a famous Japanese visual artist known for his very pop creations. If anything super instagram friendly.
I personally love Bernice Bing and the museum is running a very brief exhibition on her work. She embodies all that makes Bay Area art fascinating (look her up!).
Q: The event is in the Tenderloin, is it safe?
A: I understand your hesitation. We picked this location as our first event thanks to its relatively affordable price and accessibility (through BART, Muni, etc.). If you are not comfortable coming to this event, we totally understand and look forward to your joining our future events!
