MedStartr Healthcare Evolution
Join us for an evening of brainstorming and conversations about how we Evolve our Healthcare System Faster, Better, and with both Scale and Sustainability for innovative ideas that will improve care at lower costs. After helping and investing in startups for over a decade, we have seen it all. Many innovations and innovation programs have done well, but too many have failed. So how do we do better?
We have assembled some of the smartest people in the MedStartr Mentor Network who have all been hard at work trying to Evolve Healthcare from all the different perspectives (Patients, Doctors, Government, Hospitals, Pharma, Entrepreneurship, Investing, Accelerating,...) Matthew Holt, who started the Health 2.0 conference and movement in 2007, has agreed to moderate this panel for a discussion like we have never seen before. Our expectation is that some really amazing new approaches and partnerships will form. At our events people Connect, start to Collaborate, and quite often Create the future of care - and that's what we are all about - and by we, we mean you, me, all of us, the MedStartr Crowd or just MedStartrs for short.
So what is MedStartr?
MedStartr started as an NYC community of healthcare innovation enthusiasts but then spread hundreds of cities and thousands of events, under all different brands, mostly Health 2.0 but over 1,200 of our own events in 41 cities and online since 2008. In 2012 we launched the first HC Innovation crowdfunding platform called MedStartr.com and for 160 different sponsors (often white-labelled) we ran challenges that used the wisdom of the ever growing MedStartr crowds to select the best startups like Medable, UniteUs, Misfit wearables, CareSet, Valera Health and over 200 more companies and non-profits like the Walking Gallery that you may have seen rise since 2010. In 2017 we launched our accelerator and first fund, our second in 2019, both to good effect. We are launching our 3rd one now called the MedStartr.ai fund. We invest in the innovations that the crowds who participate in our Challenges and Events like best, and this event is no different. We will put at least one of the teams that pitch into our Accelerator program in our first MedStartr.ai fund class. On average, our teams have doubled in value every 11 months since we started investing, even during COVID and post-covid.
