NEDx - Naked Extemporaneous Discourse

Have you had a dream where you’re forced to give a presentation in class, only to look down and realize you’re wearing no pants? Nudity and public speaking are common fears because they make us feel vulnerable. Even though we know this fear is not always logical, the question remains: What do we do about it? Some people are intrigued by this fear. What could go wrong? They ask. How might I grow from such an experience? This event is for such curious minds. NEDx is designed to ease folks into the feeling of being seen, both inside and out. We start the event clothed in small groups of 3-5 people, discussing soft-ball topics (favorite books, funny memories, etc). With each round, the group gets larger, clothing is gradually removed, and the questions get more serious/ challenging (hardship, morality, etc). At some point three finalists will be identified to come on stage and answer a final question… What do you get for baring your body and soul? Personal growth, the satisfaction of doing something challenging, a new friend or three… and maybe a wad of cold hard cash! The finalists will face off to dazzle the crowd with their courage and insight. The winner gets $200 cash, second place $100, and third place $50. Details: When: Saturday January 18th, 6-9pm - Doors open at 6 & close at 6:30. No reentry. Nope. Nudity is opt-in. Bring a sarong if you’re unsure about how & when you will be comfortable being nude. Do I have to answer questions? You may opt out or ask for a new question. How does scoring work? Anonymous votes are cast after each round using the Borda Count system. Scores will never be shared, and only the finalists will be identified. What are the scores based on? Rules - No phones or cameras. Photo/video devices seen in the venue will be seized and smashed. No exceptions. - Behave decorously. Leering, lewd advances, repeated interruptions, and any other unsavory behavior will be grounds for removal (at Adam’s discretion). - Don’t bring mind altering substances into the event. If you choose to pregame, don’t come sloppy. - Rule Omega: Make sense, not war. Assume intelligence and good faith in all participants. Discuss issues on their merits.
