Ūmboma is “A Congregation of Freedom & Dance”
On April 20th, Ūmboma will transform 66 Green Street into a sound healing space, in service of everyone in the community who is in need of a place for connection, presence and movement.
Opening the evening we'll have a set from interdisciplinary artist A Space for Sound, whose work regularly explores intersections between traditional healing practices, spirituality and performance.
Immediately afterwards, Ūmboma residents Miss Alicia & Omar Ahmad will share the decks for a rhythmic and sonically expansive b2b, drawing inspiration from global, experimental, eclectic and natural sounds.
Attendees are free to sit, stand or lay down on the floor, which ever feels most comfortable.
As this event is primarily a listening experience, we recommend that phones stay mute in pockets, and conversation is minimal, at whisper volume.
Immersive sound installation by Karlala Soundsystem
Tickets are $10-20 sliding scale, all costs go towards recouping costs for artists, gear, and space rental.
No alcohol will served but there will herbal drinks and snacks on offer. BYOB is permitted, but please consume with responsibility and respect for the intimate space.
We hope you can join us for an evening of sonic journeys 🌎🌎🌎🌎.
