Hey hey, Welcome to our Lit Club session for August! We'll be meeting on Zoom this time to discuss our August Lit Club Book of the Month, Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi! About Masquerade: In a richly reimagined 15th-century West Africa, Òdòdó—a marginalized blacksmith from Timbuktu—is swept across the Sahara in a sudden kidnapping by a disguised warrior king. Thrust into a web of political intrigue, court power plays, and forbidden desire, she must navigate dangerous loyalties and defy the man who claims her—or risk losing everything, including her life. The Lit Club is a space for people who care about words, weed, and honest conversation. We center women and nonbinary authors, enjoy cannabis intentionally, and gather around books that move us toward peace, power, & pleasure. Every session includes a guided journaling or conversational prompt, a beautifully chosen book, light refreshments, and time to connect with others who think deeply and feel fully. (And it’s ok if you don’t read the book! You're still welcome.)
