For too long, NYU has ignored its ties to racial injustice. Unlike over 100 other universities, NYU has yet to conduct a formal study of its historical ties to slavery or implement tangible reparative measures.
That changes now.
Join us March 13 at 3 PM at the Washington Square Arch to demand the creation of an NYU Reparations Committee—a formal body dedicated to investigating NYU’s role in racial oppression and implementing real solutions.
One week later, the resolution goes to a vote in the SGA General Assembly. If we want NYU to take meaningful steps toward justice, we must show up together and demand action.
