When: Saturday, September 21st, 2024 12PM-4PM
Where: Fox Hills Park in Culver City
What: A family friendly day of music, barbecue*, and community fun.
Bring: Blankets, lawn chairs, your choice of non-alcoholic beverages**, favorite games, your favorite snacks and/or grillable food items.
Who: This event is by and for people who are Black and queer. Of course, since this is being held at a public park, we cannot “deny” anyone entry. However, the purpose of this event is to provide a safe space for Black queer, trans, and NB people.
How (Parking/Transportation): Since it’s a Saturday, parking is available, but will be first-come first served. It’s also not too far from a small shopping center with parking. This location is also accessible by bus. As always, you can use ride share!
Why: September 21st marks the Fall Equinox, indicating the official end of summer. Season transitions are great time for celebration, reflection, and initiating change. It’s also a great Earth, Wind, and Fire reference.
