The release of ChatGPT demarcated the beginning of a new era for humanity. Just as we replicated a horse's power when creating a motorcar and the soaring flight of bird wings when designing an airplane, in Artificial Intelligence, we have replicated the brain. While most have focused on the uncanny abilities of ChatGPT, AI has steadily revolutionized medicine. In this salon, we will focus on Precision Medicines. 1) AI is radically reducing the cost of these lifesaving medicines from their current average of $3.5M/dose, while reducing development from 10 years to a fraction of that time. 2) We will discuss new ‘impossible’ medicines from the AlphaFold branch of AI. Drugging the undruggable. 3) Lastly, our genome, the blueprint of life (and cause of many diseases), has for the first time been read as a first language, thanks to a new AI from Nvidia and others called a Large Genome Model (LGM). Bio: Dr. Njie previously served as a senior scientist studying neurogenetics in a Nobel Prize-winning laboratory at Columbia University, was early to recognize the immense potential of AI. He founded Genetic Intelligence (GI), the first medical AI company to emerge from Columbia University. Dr. Njie recently founded Ecotone, a company pioneering a foundational Large Genomic Model (LGM) to power AI-designed Precision Medicines. Ecotone near unanimously won 'Best AI Company' at the AI Summit conference in London, summer 2023. Deepak Mittal is an accomplished serial entrepreneur with a proven track record in product, AI and data Strategy. He is experienced in transforming an organization into an insight-driven, AI-enabled organization. Currently, Deepak holds the CEO position of NextGen Invent Corporation (NGI), a leading global professional services company that has always been at the forefront in providing solutions using disruptive technologies such as AI, Computer Vision, NLP, and Intelligent Automation. During his career, Deepak has served as a member of the Board of Directors of many companies including D4DT, Optym, and Launch Right Now.
