Bring a work in progress mending project, or just come to get some ideas! Slow-Poke Collective will provide some mending supplies (needles, thread, fabric) and will be available to give guidance, help you brainstorm or troubleshoot your mending projects. Mending allows us to form different relationships with textiles, our clothes, and each other and is an incredibly sustainable way to make your wardrobe more “you!” No prior mending experience is necessary - our facilitators will be on hand to answer questions and talk arts & crafts during this mending event. About Us: Jessi and Leala, founders of Slow-Poke Collective, are deeply passionate about community building, the climate, sustainable fashion, and how crafting can bridge these topics. We launched the Slow-Poke Collective in 2024 to provide a space where people could learn new skills, meet others interested in climate optimism and sustainability, and have discussions around craft, textiles, circular economy, and the climate. Let’s Get Sewcial is that space - our events encompass a variety of fiber arts, and we source as many supplies as possible second-hand.
