Join us for Biryani Queens, a private dinner hosted by Dawa (of Dawa's) and Biryani Society of Western Queens, an experimental culinary collaboration by her friends Margaux, Mila, Riga and Senjuti! Centering on an open fire cooked Malabar Biryani, the pride of the coasts of Northern Kerala - a region that crosses religious, cultural and social boundaries through centuries of maritime trade - we will explore the transcultural bonds between the Malabar coast and the Persian/Mughal, Arab and French food worlds. And what other place to mingle than our beloved Queens? The event will be held in the garden at 5044 60th St, Woodside NY 11477 on June 21st, a full-moon evening.
