Trans people are in the midst of hard time. That’s nothing new. To find ways to survive &, despite everything, thrive in the new/old regime, we turn to our elders, who have been through it all before. Reading Trancestors is a free monthly hybrid reading & discussion group centering trans authors & readers, focused on learning from a past that insists on continually repeating itself. How did our trancestors survive the things we’re scared will happen again? Where did they find purpose in a world with no concept of their existence? What beautiful siblings are in the archive, siblings we may not even know existed? Hosted monthly by Nonbinarian Philomena, Meeting on the last Monday of the month on-site in-store at The Nonbinarian Bookstore & virtually on Zoom. Each month we will suggest & vote on our next book together. For our April meeting, we'll be reading Transgender Warriors by Leslie Feinberg. Links to purchase a print from Bookshop.org above. This book club centers the trans gaze & is open only to trans, non-binary, & gender-nonconforming attendees.
