January 23, 9:00 pm, at Young Ethels bar and stage. Free It is a sing-along, laugh along watch party to a much reviled movie from 2019 starring Idris Elba, James Corden and Taylor Swift, just to name a few. It was a critical and box office disaster. We are screening the film in a light-hearted way where we will celebrate all that is odd and impressive about the film, but it will also investigate how a film like this happens. Film and television are massive projects that involve the labor of hundreds of talented workers and the finances of a small country. How does all that time, work and talent result in a "bad movie" and what does it mean to poke fun at a universally panned movie that, at any rate, at least a few dozen peoples pride and joy? Sarah and Jason are improv comedians with 10+ years experience in the NYC comedy scene as well as respectable musical theater and film nerds, respectively. Together we will go on a journey into the heart of cinema and enjoy a ride into the vfx unknown.
