You are cordially invited to attend Generative Series' AI and Music program on Sunday, Nov 10th, hosted by The LINE Hotel DC. Tickets are free to the public with registration. It will be a fun, fast paced discussion and we’re even going to have a live music demonstration of cutting edge AI influenced tunes before the talk which should be colorful and eye opening! We will delve into how making, hearing, dancing to, and talking about music are fundamental human experiences and so given this irrepressible human compulsion, AI won’t destroy music — but it can radically shift who is making it, what we hear, who makes money and why we create it in the first place. The event will feature speakers like: --Kristina Austin, 9:30 Club Manager and DJ Trilla Kay --Chris Kelly, Washington Post Music Writer --Gary Greenstein, Billboard Top Music Lawyer and Partner at Wilson Sonsini --Leif Jomuad, Pop Artist and WRIZZARDS Collective member During this conversation we will also examine macro questions like how man made instruments and the human voice differ from digitally altered AI creations and DJs, how AI created or influenced music will be perceived especially given how digitally altered much of music already is, and things like copyright issues and how we fairly pay for and compensate AI music and AI musicians. A fun cocktail reception and social will follow the event after 3pm at The LINE Hotel.
