In her original piece, Samantha explores the tradition of sixteen-year-old Jewish women undergoing nose jobs, sharing her family's personal experience—her grandmother, mother, and herself—all receiving the procedure. This transformation impacted her life before and after the surgery, especially through the lens of the entertainment industry. The show reflects how Jewish people often use humor to address sensitive topics. Despite facing criticism from peers who labeled it "offensive" or "political," she created a piece in which she is incredibly proud. Through this work, she embraces the kugel-baking, stomach-aching, kvetching girl she will always be. Bio: Samantha Harnick (she/her) is a recent graduate of Syracuse University with a BFA in Musical Theater. During her time at Syracuse, she studied classical acting at Shakespeare’s Globe in London and was a recipient of the Aaron Sorkin Fellowship in LA. She had the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall, the Clipper Halftime Show, and the Hangar Theatre. Most recently she performed as a special guest at the "Reefer Madness" post-show cabaret. Now she is back home in Los Angeles to pursue her professional acting career with the help of Syracuse alumni, Wise Temple, and Peter Kallinteris Agency (PKA). Don’t miss this chance to experience a powerful and humorous performance that promises to leave you both entertained and introspective.
