Filling up. Letting go. Rolling in. Rolling out. The movement of our breath mirrors the movement of the ocean. Each breath is a powerful wave of Shakti (life force) energy that offers us the opportunity to cleanse our bodies of stagnant energy, release stuck emotions and wash ourselves whole again. Join Mallory Combemale (Breath Connection) and musician Richard Anderson for a potent evening of breathwork accompanied by a mystical soundscape of ocean waves, live drumming, tamborines, karimbas, bells, and other auditory surprises and delights. The practice will focus on connecting to the water element and supporting our bodies to release stuck energy. We will close with an integration circle to share about our experiences and connect as a community. This gathering is offered on a donation basis, with suggested range of $22 - $44. Send donations via Venmo to @Mallory-Combemale. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Feel free to come early and enjoy the beach before we begin! If you plan to attend, please RSVP. At every gathering, we explore a different theme and set of practices from the Himalayan kriya yoga tradition, which may involve movement and mantra in addition to breathwork and meditation. You can expect: -Powerful breath practices to release stagnant energy and emotions -Meditation practices for self-awareness, acceptance, and self-love -Opportunities to connect with others as a community of practice ABOUT BREATHWORK Breath practice is the ultimate tool for self-empowerment. It is is the single most important thing we do every day, not only because it keeps us alive (!) but also because how we breathe has a deep impact on our physiology. Changing the way you breathe can change how you feel in less than a minute, because breathing is directly connected to the autonomic nervous system. There are hundreds of different breath techniques that all have different physiological effects. ABOUT MALLORY Mallory has been practicing yoga and meditation for over a decade. She is a grateful student and teacher of the Himalayan kriya yoga tradition through Ananda Mehrotra (Sattva Yoga Academy, 500Hr YTT) and has extensively studied scientifically how breath affects the human brain and nervous system (Nalanda Institute). Mallory is also a professional facilitator, trained in ethnography and conflict resolution. She is a co-founder of Inheritance Project, where she facilitates inclusion, leadership development, inclusion and community-building programs for some of the world’s top organizations. Through Breath Connection, Mallory also works with individuals 1:1 to design personalized breathwork practices that are tailored to your unique body and goals, and supports you to make the practice a regular part of your daily routine. ABOUT RICHARD Music has been Richard's greatest passion since childhood, but it was getting his first tambourine a few years ago that started this new chapter in his musical journey. He uses ancient instruments like frame drums, rattles and bells to help people explore new places within themselves.
