Writer's Open Mic

Hi all! Come enjoy an evening of literary goodness and spoken word at The Ansty Verse's first Writer's Open Mic! Surround yourself with fellow creatives and like-minded people in this intimate setting. Poetry, spoken word, novel/story excerpts, journal entries, song lyrics, articles, and all forms of writing are welcome! We're here to spread love though, no hate! We will be supporting local NYC talent at Niteglow, a cozy family-run farm brewery offering beers and cocktails alongside their Dayglow counterpart specializing in quality coffees and teas. Whichever is your mood for the evening, this nook in Bushwick has got it! Occupancy is set to 60 and there is a waitlist. The RSVP is for an overall headcount. This is a public event! We will be using the backroom of Niteglow and space is limited. However, people can move from one room to the next. If capacity is reached, still feel free to stop by! Start time is 7:00 for introductions. Feel free to arrive beforehand! RSVP is for an overall headcount. There will be a sign-up sheet. Each person has 5 minutes to share their art. Please consider donating to the Bushwick Freestore to find a permanent home. Volunteers in partnership with Bushwick Mutual Aid gather on Tuesdays at Maria Hernandez Park to provide clothing, kitchenware, toys, hot meals & more for the community. In inclement weather, they are not able to meet.
