ART SHOW AND LIFE CELEBRATION: JONATHAN PAYNE

As you all know, last year our dear friend Jonathan peacefully passed away in his sleep. We are coming together with his friends and family that he loved with so much care to celebrate his life.
Jonathan believed strongly in the power of art to bring joy to our lives. He never hesitated to talk about how hard Improv Shakespeare made him laugh or how much he cried at a Future Islands concert; how profound The Godfather felt, how insightful he found Derren Brown's mentalism; how he never tired of poems or novels or non-fiction or podcasts or live performances. He found a richness that could not be measured in every corner of human experience. He believed that if the world nutured more art and artsits, it would be a much more beautiful place, so he opened himself up to it all and shared it with anyone who would listen.
In this spirit of this sharing, our celebration will be held in an art gallery where we can display some of Jonathan's art, including his paintings and pages from his novel. We will also include a video collage of old photos (some undoubtedly of him playing music or performing), a playlist of many of his favorite songs, and even have some strange and special performances.
Prints of his art will be available for sale with the proceeds going toward the Scribble Gallery.
