Friends — Nice to Meet You is this Wednesday! If your week could use a little more actual human interaction (and a little less scrolling), come hang with us at Handlebar. My partner and I host this event there twice a month to help adults make real, platonic friendships in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. This week is a little extra special because Handlebar is also hosting another community event earlier in the evening called Communitea from 5–8pm. It’s a space for folks to connect around local issues, share resources, and talk about ways to get involved in the St. Louis community. The two events will be happening on different sides of the bar, so feel free to check out either - or both! If you're interested in community organizing and meeting new people socially, it’s a great chance to experience a little of each. 🗓 When: Wednesday, March 18 ⏰ Time: 6–8pm 📍 Where: Handlebar - 4127 Manchester Ave, St. Louis What’s included: 🍕 Free pizza (because good snacks = good vibes) 🥂 A welcome shot if you arrive before 6:30. The bar picks it, NA option available 🃏 Simple prompts to help conversations start naturally 🔄 Small groups (4-6 people) that rotate every 30 minutes so you actually meet more than just one table A few quick things: 🔞 21+ only 🌈 Fully inclusive - all identities welcome 🤝 Strictly platonic vibes We cap it at 35 people to keep things comfortable, so earlier is better. If you’re running late, no biggie. If we’ve got room we’ll get you seated! And while NTMY officially wraps at 8pm, Handlebar starts karaoke right after, and a bunch of us usually stick around to hang out and cheer people on 🎤. Totally optional, but always a fun way to keep the night going. Can’t make 3/18? We meet every first Friday and third Wednesday of the month, so there’s always another chance! Simple concept.
