Hello, and thank you for coming! Let me start off by saying, I am not a pastor, aspiring pastor, nor am I a priest or a member of any church. I am simply a believer and lover of Jesus Christ who is trying my best to be my best in this life. My goal for this group is to have a gathering of like-minded people and Christians or lovers of Christ who do not attend traditional church. I was inspired by a conversation I had with someone I know, and we happened to be talking about Jesus and his teachings, and she said that the conversation we were having was “church”, and she quoted Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them. As a lover of Christ myself, I read Jesus’ teachings regularly and try to incorporate them into my daily life. But the traditional church setting was never really for me. When you’re before a pastor, he is talking to you, not with you, so my goal for this meetup is to have a group of people talk about what Jesus means to them and have it be a collaborate, lively discussion where the Spirit can dwell among us. I don’t see it being like a Bible Study, per se, but more of a discussion where people can share their current struggles - whether it be difficulty in being able to change/repent, not praying as much as you should, falling short in relationships, etc. - amongst the group and have the group share Jesus’ teachings as a means of change. Or you can just come to listen and experience the meeting in silence. To be honest, I just had this seed planted in me, and I have no idea what it should be, where it will go, or what it will become. But the important thing is that the seed is planted. So come join me, and please message me beforehand if you have any prior questions or concerns. For, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
